Review of the first event from Paul:
Dear Friends Group Member
The first car boot sale was a huge success yesterday. 49 vehicles turned up. The Lime Avenue was thronged with shoppers. There was a great atmosphere. Some stall holders even left before the end, because they had sold everything they had brought with them. The feedback was very encouraging with the majority saying they will be back for the next one. There are a few things we will change for the next event, with some more advertising, but the stall holders liked the venue and were generally very pleased with everything. I spoke to quite a number of stall holders and shoppers who were visiting our Park for the first time, and loved the place. It was great promotion for the Park.
Once expenses have been covered the profit for this one event will be £468.91, which will go into the Friends funds. There was a fantastic turn out from the Friends volunteers, who all worked really hard on the day, and made sure everything went smoothly. I want to pass on a huge thank you to them, but also to Dave Saunders who organised the event and put in hours of preparation.
We also need to thank the police for their help and support, and all of the stall holders and the shoppers, for bearing with us over any small teething issues, and for leaving the area absolutely spotlessly clear at the end of the event.
There are two more sales coming up on Saturdays 15th & 29th August. I hope the volunteers will be able to help again. Please try to publicise these as widely as possible.
Thanks again to all involved, and well done.
Regards
Paul
