Manchester GPs Back Benchmark of Quality

Manchester doctors on the 23 July have all backed a set of quality standards to enhance and bring consistent good GP care across the area.

The standards have been adapted to fit patient need in south, central and north Manchester. These are based on a wider Greater Manchester agreement which focuses on nine different priorities. Read more.

Type 2 Diabetes Listening Event

Do you live with Type 2 diabetes in central Manchester? If so, you are invited to a focus group on Wednesday 12 August from 1pm to 4pm. This is an opportunity for you to learn about a new community diabetes service being developed for central Manchester.

From April 2015, all GP practices are required to have a Patient Participation Group. If you are interested in joining your GP practice group, speak to the Practice Manager next time you visit the GP practice.

Congratulations and Thank You to…

Congratulations to Nina Jackson, Macmillan Cancer Improvement Partnership volunteer who has recently been nominated as volunteer of the year in the Spirit of Manchester Awards.

Thank you to Beryl Clark, Patient and Public Participation Group member for central Manchester CCG who retired this month after nearly 25 years of volunteering in local health services and forums. Beryl’s tenacity and support for improving mental health services for older people has seen her participate in a wide range of forums and NHS Trusts throughout Manchester.

Wishing Beryl all the best for the future. She will be missed.

Gynaecology Services – Have Your Say!

The three Manchester CCGs are currently working with GPs, patients and providers to develop a new way of working for Gynaecology services in Manchester.

Let’s Talk Epilepsy

Do you have or care for someone who has Epilepsy and live in Manchester? If so, you are invited to take part in a focus group on Tuesday 25 August 1pm to 4pm at (insert venue).

The CCGs would like to work with people with lived experience and their carer’s to co-design a new community Epilepsy service for residents in Manchester.

To take part in the focus group you must be registered with a GP in Manchester. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and refreshments will be available. For further information or to book a place, please email Talking Health or alternatively call 0161 765 4004.
