Would you like to join others for gentle rides around Alexandra Park and explore other local green spaces?

Whalley Range on Wheels  (your local community cycle club) now have a bank of bikes in Alexandra park.  This includes a range of bikes for both adults and children and an adult trike.   The intention is to make these available for community use to help support local people to enjoy the many benefits of cycling.

If you are part of a local community group and would be interested in accessing the bikes, with or without support from a cycle instructor or ride leader, please contact eve.holt@ctc.org.uk.

Would you like to learn how to fix or build your own bike?

Whalley Range on Wheels are organising a number of bike maintenance sessions and tool clubs across venues in Whalley Range, to include Alexandra Park.   A qualified mechanic plus all tools and equipment will be provided.  If you are keen to host a session or to participate please get in touch with eve.holt@ctc.org.uk.

Would you like to support your local community cycling club?

If you are able to offer any time or resources to support the development of your local community cycle club please get in touch with eve.holt@ctc.org.uk.   All help is appreciated to include – ideas for future activity, development and funding;  help co-ordinating events;  supporting bike maintenance sessions;  bike donations; administration or supporting rides.   We are looking to arrange a meeting later this month to discuss the future of the club so please pass on your contact details if you would be interested in coming along.

Would you like to set up your own community cycling club?

CTC, the national cycling charity and TfGM are working together to support the development of more inclusive community cycle groups across Greater Manchester.  If you are interested in setting up your own community cycling club to support local people to access a bike, ride a bike, fix a bike or simply have fun with bikes please get in touch with eve.holt@ctc.org.uk.  There is some funding and support available.

Riding bikes is great fun and really healthy too! Cycling is great for getting around, cheap and convenient and it is great exercise, gentle on the joints and accessible.  Riding with friends is even better.  Learning how to fix your own bike, or helping others fix theirs, brings huge satisfaction and rewards.

Spreading the joys of cycling across Greater Manchester.
