Manchester Repair Cafe
The next Manchester Repair Cafe will be this Saturday 17th June from 10am – 12pm at Stitched Up Manchester, 527B Wilbraham Road, Chorlton M21 0UF
The Manchester Repair Café is a free to use, drop in community event, run by volunteers and open to all. Visitors can attend once a month to learn from expert volunteers the skills to fix broken clothes, furniture, electronics, bikes and technology.
There’s no need to book – just turn up on the day with your broken item. The event runs from 10am-12pm, and the last repair will be booked in at 11:30am.
While our volunteers are skilled in various repairs, they don’t offer a guarantee that your item can be fixed, nor will they single-handedly do the work for you! The Repair Café is all about getting people fixing things together – equally focused on sharing skills and meeting new people. We encourage everyone to stick around for a cup of tea and to chip in with advice and ideas for other visitors’ repairs.
We’re looking for lots of lovely people to get involved in the running of this event. If you’d like to volunteer on the day, or lend/donate some tools, please get in touch! email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The Great Get Together – The Place, Fallowfield
The Great Get Together has been inspired by the late MP Jo Cox, who believed that people have more in common, than what divides them. Hundreds of groups and organisations throughout the country are throwing celebrations this weekend to bring people together.
The Place at Platt Lane will be holding theirs this Saturday 17th June from 1-4pm. There will be face painting for the kids, craft sessions, tombola and more. All are welcome.
Manchester International Festival – Resident’s Tickets
MIF runs a low-cost ticket scheme for local audiences, which is designed to make more of the Festival more accessible to more people across Greater Manchester. Around 10% of all tickets for MIF17 will be available at £12 to residents of Greater Manchester on a lower wage.
A proportion of MIF17’s £12 tickets will be sold from the MIF Box Office (0843 208 1840, mif.co.uk) on a first-come, first-served honesty basis, with a maximum of two £12 tickets per show. The remainder will be allocated by MIF to groups and communities that qualify for the scheme.

Mental Health Mates
Mental Health Mates is a regular meet up for people who would like to walk and talk about their mental health (amongst other things) with others without a fear of judgement. You can bring friends, family (including children and pets) and colleagues to the walk. They may not necessarily have mental health issues themselves, but they are still welcome to attend.
The next walk in Manchester is on Sunday 16th July outside the Whitworth Art Gallery at 11am. Poster is attached.
