Summer Holiday Activities

Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September
Open daily, 10am – 5pm

Join in the fun this summer with our holiday activities. Make your own fidget spinner in our new workshop and pick a side to cheer on in the Science Showdown as famous figures battle it out with their electrifying experiments.

Help invent a brand new bike and pedal to victory with Inventors Wanted! – an interactive storytelling session for younger children.

See our big, noisy engines and mill machinery in action with our live demonstrations, get creative and print your own steam train designs, and more.

Power Up! Workshop

Monday 14 August – Sunday 20 August
10.30am, 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm (1 hour sessions)
Recommended for ages 7 – 14
£6 per child.
All children must be supervised by an adult. Please make sure you select a free adult ticket when you make your booking.

From Super Mario to Tetris, everyone has their favourite 8-bit theme. Now it’s your turn to create a classic tune using the Nintendo Game Boy in this Power Up! workshop.

Experiment and play, then build on your skills after the workshop with our free take-home starter pack.

10.30am, 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm (1 hour sessions)
Recommended for ages 7 – 14
£6 per child.
All children must be supervised by an adult. Please make sure you select a free adult ticket when you make your booking.

Our second Power Up! workshop gives you the chance to design, build and animate the original computer game characters (sprites).

Keeping it vintage, we’ll look at the fundamentals of programming, graphics and sound design using 80s classic BBC Micro computers.

The workshop does not require any previous programming knowledge.



MakeFest

Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August
